It's time for the Teenage Heartthrob Blogfest! I'm to list all of my celeb teenage crushes or at least a few of them. I realized something about my teen self...I didn't really crush on anyone my own age. I went for men...with a few exceptions. Here they are, in no particular order:
Angel (David Boreanaz)

From the first moment he creeped and skulked after Buffy, I was in intrigued. Then the camera focused more on his character, he was mysterious, dangerous even. He was all I'm broody and dark, yet love me. Love me hard. And I did. The end.
Lucas (Jonathan Brandis)
A teen exception. I've never really been into blonds, but I've always been into brains. I knew from a very young age that knowledge and nerds are sexy, the rest of the world is just now catching on. ;-)
Tom Hanson (Johnny Depp)
And thus begins my love story with Johnny. I mean, really, how could you not love baby faced, undercover cop,Tom Hanson? He followed rules all right, his own. The perfect blend of rule follower/maker/breaker. I thank 21 Jump Street every day for bringing me Tom Hanson aka Johnny D. (and don't even mention that new fangled abomination with the same name coming out this year. Don't you dare.)
Will Scarlett (Christian Slater)

I really couldn't tell you when I began to love Christian Slater, but Robin Hood: POT, really solidified my love for him. Another smart-mouthed, jerky character, who was really a good guy in the end. Love.
Wesley (Carey Elwes)

| DROP. YOUR. SWORD. |
I much preferred Wesley after he became the Dread Pirate Roberts. His badassery was charming and humorous. He was a bit of a jerk and kind of crazy. (I'm sensing a theme...) Anywho, he was just all together bewitching.
Eric (Jay Underwood)

Why, oh why, did I crush on the Boy Who Could Fly? Why ask why? Try, Bud Dry. Seriously, don't ask me...And I wasn't really a teen, more pre-teen.
Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick)

Again, brains + sarcasm = love.
There you have it. A little peak into teenage Hannah's mind...
which incidentally, looks an awful lot like adult Hannah's mind...
Now I'm off to get all swoony over everyone else's picks.

Oh, it made me happy and sad to see Jonathan Brandis. I loved that boy.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Me too. I was sad to see him go.
Deleteholy shit- you have some great choices in there! Cary Elwes and Will Scarlett are top notch!
ReplyDeleteYeah, they are.
DeleteI always liked Spike more than Angel, since Angel could be a bit whiny. And i had Lucas on my short list as well, but he was cut at the last second.
ReplyDeleteI don't think i've even heard of The Boy Who could fly, so you'll need to tell me about that
I bet Jonathan Brandis is turning over in his grave because of that. Too soon??
DeleteI love Cary Elwes! Great choice. I was also a HUGE Angel fan, he made my list too :)
ReplyDeleteI was a huge Angel fan, but now he kind of irritates me...though the love lingers on.
DeleteHeh. Jonathan Brandis. I'll always remember him for his cameo on Saved by the Bell: The College Years, which occurred during that 6 month period of time in which he was the hottest thing, ever.
ReplyDeleteI always liked Will Scarlett in POT; wish he'd been able to do more.
Also, not to be pedantic ("what, on the INTERNET?"), but isn't it Westley, not Wesley?
Yeah, you're right. It is Westley. Jeez, so pedantic. And I so don't remember Jonathan Brandis on Saved by the Bell: TCY. I wonder if that's on Netflix??
DeleteHehe, I love the funny, sarcastic, nerdy, and smart guys. (I married one!)
ReplyDeleteThough, I just call him goofy white guy. Same dif, right? Lol.
I married one as well. They're keepers. ;)
DeleteDavid Boreanaz was one of my favorites. I even watched his spinoff, even though it got weirder in the end (but then again so did Buffy).
ReplyDeleteI had such a crush on Jonathan Brandis. I think it's so sad what happened to him.
I actually like the end of Angel and Buffy, that's when it really started getting good and coming together. I love the graphic novels continuing the series. I love rewatching both. Good times.
DeleteCary Elwes from the Princess Bride - of course! And totally forgotten about The Boy Who Could Fly.
ReplyDeleteThe list wouldn't be complete without some mention of The Princess Bride.
Deletewesley! oh wesley! i didn't even think of him... although i kinda preferred inigo montoya. i must like my mens vengeful. :P
ReplyDeletethe boy who could fly was a really interesting movie... i can see it.
thanks for playing! :)
Oh, I love Mandy Patinkin to this day, but teen me, loved Westley. The man in black. ;)
DeleteJohnny Depp is cool. I like his acting range. I'm #5 over at the Bloghop, and I picked real people from my past, ulp, names withheld...
ReplyDeleteJohnny D does have good range. I have loved almost all of his movies at some point or another.
DeleteI chose Johnny Depp for this blogfest, too. Great brains (er...minds) think alike! I still love him!!!
ReplyDeleteI still love him as well. I'll watch anything he's in at least once.
DeleteThrow a sense of humor on top of beautiful eyes and a gorgeous smile, I'm hooked! Johnny Depp in 21 Jump Street, great! Not sure how Channing Tatum is going to do in that role, not quite the same...
ReplyDeleteI told you not to speak of that abomination. :P
DeleteExcellent choices. No Picard when you were younger, though?
ReplyDeleteOh, nice selections. I am older than you, but your 'type' = LIKE ME.
ReplyDeleteYou're not that much older than me. Great minds and all that.
DeleteNice picks! David Boreanaz is one of my favs now!
ReplyDeleteI don't watch Bones but I occasionally catch an old episode of Angel and I still love him.
DeleteDavid Boreanaz is still a heart throb in the TV series Bones. Johnny Depp made it on my list too :)
ReplyDeleteYes, David Boreanaz is still very attractive.
DeleteDavid Boreana and Johnny Depp; who could resist indeed. Still can't.
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice this blogfest, so I didn't join. Looks like lots of fun though :)
.......dhole
It was a fun blogfest, though a bit harder than I thought it would be.
DeleteOh, Matthew Broderick!!! Great choice! And yay for Jonathan Brandis! Although, every time I think about him I get sad. :(
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hear you on Jonathan Brandis. Him and Heath Ledger make me sad.
DeleteLOL. I've got a bunch of older men on my list too!
ReplyDeleteOlder men were appealing to me even then. ;)
DeleteOoh, Bad Angel was the best!
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Angelus was much hotter than Angel...even though they were the same actor. Brain-splosion!
DeleteI loved Johnny Depp in 21 Jump Street. Actually this was the whole reason I went to health class in high school because our teacher would frequently put in an episode of 21 Jump Street for topics like steroids and drugs.
ReplyDeleteLOL, that's a pretty strong influence. I own all the seasons and though they're so so dated, they're still great fun to watch.
DeleteThat's an impressive list! And to think that Angel turned into an FBI dude! :)
ReplyDeleteThat he did. That he did.
DeleteYou have some of my faves (JB...RIP). I love (to this day) "The Boy Who Could Fly." I watched it when I was 16 (?) and never got over it!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who like The Boy Who Could Fly. I got some very weird looks from The Man when he saw this list. LOL.
Delete21 Jump Street started my love affair with Johnny Depp all those years ago. I fell hard and never went back. I also crushed on Ferris and Andrew McCarthy in Pretty in Pink. And Wesley, who could not love Dread Pirate Roberts? I also had a thing for Inigo.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on Johnny D. That was the beginning...He's such an attractive man and so comfortable in his own skin. That's probably why he's so attractive.
DeleteYummy...
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing the new Jump Street movie coming out won't be as good as the Johnny Depp version in your eyes?
Ah, Ferris Bueller - my friend LOVES him x
I refuse to comment on that "new movie."
Delete;)
Angel and Johnny Depp never did it for me. Matthew Broderick, however, he's a cutey, isn't he?
ReplyDeleteThat's why I love these lists. It makes men look at all the different men we like and get extremely confused because we're all so different. LOL.
DeleteIt's probably on Netflix. Or else just wait for it to come up on the TBS rotation.
ReplyDeleteIt's the Thanksgiving ep, where a bunch of early 90s stars like Brandis and BAG stop by to help save Thanksgiving.
I seriously don't think I've ever seen that!! Wha--???? I thought I had seen them all. To the Netflix!!
DeleteDude, I STILL have a crush on Johnny Depp. He's aging beautifully. He is beyond sexy.
ReplyDeleteI love your list! I adored Johnny Depp, Christian Slater, Wesley and Angel! Ah, you're making me relive my teen years!
ReplyDeleteWesley was also in Glory with Matthew Broderick and Denzel Washington. He was fabulous in that too with his Yankee uniform.
I still adore Johnny Depp, funnily enough. The man just gets better and better.
Jai
Boy, we share a lot of the same crushes. David B. and Johnny D. Sigh.
