The Nothing

Mood: Pork chops and applesauce

iChabod: Wookiefoot, Bob Marley, Queen and Megadeth (how's that combo?)

Last week, I used a typewriter for the first time in many, many years. I want one even more now.

So I'm finally excited about 2 of my WIPs. Not sure what was the tipping point, but now I'm pumped. I'm almost done with 5 steps of the Snowflake Method for one and the other is in the works.

I think that once I'm done with the Snowflake Method for the first idea, I will start my writing, NaNoWriMo speed style.

I don't write very long first drafts, so I really REALLY want to hammer out 2 first drafts before the end of the year. *fingers crossed*

Here's a sneak peak of the first idea:

And here's a little sneak peak of my 2nd idea:

For reals, I'm pumped.

So, I figured it was time to set up my desk. Some expressed interest, so here's what it's looking like so far:

What are you working on right now?? What's got you pumped?

My comment thing was screwing up the blog, so I fixed it; but I lost Stina's comment. I will email you, Stina!!

I love your sneak peaks. What a great way to show them!

Ah, I could never use a typewriter again. I remember using an old typewriter for school paper - over and over because of errors. It's not a happy memory. ;)

@Holly- Thanks!! My parents only ever had an electric typewriter, so I don't have any bad memories of many typos. Though I'm sure I would if I had one. I am a typo goddess!

I'm at 26,000 words and hit a brick wall. Major brick wall. Too much life stress sucking the mojo right out of me. Soon, hopefully, I'll return to my post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Ooh, cool images. Abandoned anything makes for a sweet setting, and I'm digging the gothic ladies. And look at your nice organised desk! Glad to hear you're excited about your WIPs; I hope I can come up with something that excites me before NaNo strikes.

Love the idea of using images as the sneak peek!

I used the snowflake method last year for NaNo, and fell in love with it. It was the only thing that kept me going without getting lost.

I'm really excited about my serial story Taking Liberty. It's getting close to the end. I'm also (trying) to get around to the final draft of a short story. I plan on using it to try out the whole indie publishing thing.

Love your desk area! I'm working on finishing this draft because I want to get one brand new draft written by the end of the year, maybe for NaNo. We'll see.

Hannah Kincade said...

@Anne- Thanks!! I loves it.
And about the story...sort of.

@NiaRaie- There's only one month before NaNoWriMo!! Eeek! Where did the time go?

Hannah Kincade said...

@Sophia- Thanks!! I'm so glad that there are artists out there who can paint my brain images without even meeting me...or know what I'm thinking. Genius!

Great pictures for inspiration!

I'm working on a main WIP at the moment, but I'm planning three others as well when the ideas strike :)

Your disk is simple and organized - I like it!

Ooooh, you have a lava lamp? I used to love sitting in my son's room talking to him and staring at his lava lamp, hehe :)

I love the tone of your second sneak peak. Love the color scheme in them. I also love your desk space. I really like the idea of the bookshelf against the end like that.

I had an old old manual typewriter that someone gave me when I was younger. I banged out (literally, since you had to press the keys so hard) the beginning of my first novel, family newsletters, and plays on that baby until it got tossed. I miss it a lot, but more for sentimental reasons than anything else. There is something kind of satisfying about it. But computers are SO much easier :)

These are not the droids you're looking for.

@Lindsay- Woohoo! 3 others? That's fantastic. I love hearing that.

@Sarah- Thanks! I probably won't be giving too many details, but a few excerpts here and there, might be an idea. ;)
