How many of you participated in National Novel Writing Month this year? Raise your hands.
Okay, good.
Well this is for you whether you won or not.
I approached two fellow bloggers about this and they both agreed that it was a fun idea.
So Sarah (Falen) Ahiers, Summer Frey and I are joining forces to bring you the "Show Me Yours" Blogfest!

The point of this blogfest is to share an excerpt of your NaNoWriMo novel.
It can be any scene but try to keep it at 500 words so we can all get around to as many blogs as possible.

Who's with me?!
The date as you may have noticed is January 3rd, 2011. This will give you time to choose a scene and edit it, revise it, change it...whatever.
Feel free to give us a little background about your story or at the very least a title and a genre. That always helps, right?
So if you participated in NaNoWriMo 2010, now's the time to show your skills or your bad writing! :D
Sarah, Summer and I are going to try and use the same link widget.
But until then, feel free to sign up on the one I have ---------->
Steal this badge to advertise but please link it back to here or one of the other ladies blogfest post so that they know the rules.

Aww, man, I didn't do NaNo this year! But what a great idea! Hopefully, there will be a master list posted around somewhere so I can blog hop!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Love the little advertising badge. hee hee
ReplyDeleteI might be able to do this! Now, what scene doesn't suck...?
ReplyDeleteLove the badge. Too cute. I'm still working on my first draft. :(
ReplyDeleteLET IT BEGIN!
ReplyDeleteI may actually sign up for this one - even tho I swore off blogfests. We'll see. Great idea :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't participate this year, but gotta say that this is my favorite contest badge EVER.
ReplyDeleteHa! I'm with Alex. What scene sucks the least?
ReplyDeleteTo the suck!
ReplyDeleteThis could be subtitled, "Vive la difference."
ReplyDeleteBahahaha! That badge is funny. :) I didn't participate in NaNo, but I'm looking forward to reading from those who did.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a great blogfest! And since I did NaNoWriMo . . . yes, I'm signing up!
ReplyDeleteI dunno. I don't like posting my writing. I think I will pass this time.
ReplyDeleteBut I loves you.
Happy weekend!
Saw this on Sarah's blog! I might join you if I can clean up the word vomit.
ReplyDeleteHey, far be it for me to pass up an opportunity for a little exhibitionism! I'm in! (love the pic and theme!)
ReplyDeleteFun idea! I really with I had done it this year now! Can't wait to see everyone's posts on it though.
ReplyDeleteI have plenty of bad writing to share! I will see if I can find something.
ReplyDeleteOh, great idea.
ReplyDeleteI am in.
I didn't participate in Nano but it's going to be fun watching you guys!
ReplyDeleteJai
I didn't do Nano, but I look forward to the posts. I love the badge.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, I may just find a passage and tweak it a bit....
ReplyDeleteNeat idea! And I just LOVE the pic!
Great idea; but I too skipped NaNo this year in favor of continuing my WiP. My goal: finish it before 1/1/11 when Write1Sub1 starts.
ReplyDeleteHe he! Cute pic and nice idea. I don't like posting actual novel excerpts online, but it'll be fun to see what others are up to!
ReplyDeleteCool blogfest idea! I can't wait to read the everyone's work! I didn't do NaNo this year. I was over the top busy with company and being company...
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
I'm still working on the story! If I get it finished and have a chance to polish a scene up a bit, I'll jump aboard :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in! And that picture is the cutest. Ever.
ReplyDeleteI didn't participate in NaNo. Fun idea for a blogfest!
ReplyDeleteThat badge is way too funny :)
I'll definitely think about taking part. Like some of the other comments, I'm going to have to check to see what scene is the least embarrassing to post.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I didn't participate, but I'll enjoy reading everyone's excerpts.
ReplyDeleteMichele
I participated and won! Gee, I'll have to think about a scene to share. This is a fun idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat's a great idea. I hope lots of people participate! I didn't do NaNoWriMo, I was too busy watching reality TV shows and hanging out with my friends, but I hope those who do follow up with this. A really great way to build community.
ReplyDeleteThat should be fun!
ReplyDeleteAw pooh; foiled for waiting too late.
ReplyDeleteI had been thinking of this same blogfest since I read Clarissa Draper's (I think it was Clarissa?) Chapter vs Scene post in early November. I got so busy during December however, I didn't have time to write up the details. Funny how we thought the same fest, and date.
Knowing many people did not participate in NaNo (myself included), I was going to open it to anyone with a current work in progress - any scene they wrote during November, and to be sure it was a COMPLETE scene. A concept fully worked from beginning, middle, end; with a transition into either another scene or a new chapter.
See what happens when you hold onto a good idea too long . . :)
A great idea Hannah. I did not participate in NaNo, but I will enjoy reading all the entries from people who did.
I will put this in my events calander. And the button, of course. That is so adorable.
..........dhole
Sounds like a plan!
ReplyDeleteI have an award for you on my blog.
:-)
sounds fun... i had no time this year :(
ReplyDeleteI'm totally in, man! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm a little late to the party, as usual, but I'm in. Love the badge.

ReplyDeleteAw, the first year I did not participate. Oh well, I will enjoy reading the other post. This is a great idea
ReplyDeleteI did NaNo, and since it's already Jan 3 here, does that mean I can post now? :D I think I will!
ReplyDeleteI know it's like...the day OF the blogfest, but this looks like a blast and I just found it, so I'd love to join...
ReplyDelete*trots off to post snippet*
I failed NaNo this year... but posting upp the first 450 words reminded me of what I loved about the story and given me the urge to finish it.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
