So Alex is hosting the Top Ten TV Shows Blogfest and I wasn't sure I was going to participate but seeing as I made a huge boo-boo yesterday (see Sunday's post) I have some free time. And I do love me some TV.
There are a ton of people participating in this one so I will def be making the rounds today and you should too!!
Okay here we go (these are in no order):
There are a ton of people participating in this one so I will def be making the rounds today and you should too!!
Okay here we go (these are in no order):
- Star Trek: TNG
If you've been following my blog for a while, you will already know my deep, deep love of Star Trek. I should probably be embarrassed but I'm not. And TNG is my absolute fave. I usually watch an episode a day still. Yes, it's so so good. And if you don't watch it well this is what Captain Picard thinks of that.
2. Farscape
Sigh. Crighton. I laugh, I cry, I fill with rage...I do many things while watching this show. And it is NOT just Muppets in Space, Teebore! CRACKERS DON'T MATTER!!

3. Supernatural
Again, if you've been following you know the love and slight obsession. I had no hopes at all when I started watching this five years ago. I just thought it would be another CW sex and scandal show. Little did I know how far the mangst and mythos would go to win my heart. Speaking of which SEASON SIX ON FRIDAY BABY!! And have you SEEN Dean?? Sam's not so bad either.

4. Buffy: The Vampire Slayer
I was hooked from episode one and am still hooked. Have you seen Buffy the Musical?? Joss Whedon is a genius. That is all.

5. Stargate: SG-1
The Stargate movie was the first (and only) that I watched 5 times in the theater. It became one of the longest running scifi shows eva and with good reason. Richard Dean Anderson will be in my dreams tonight! Also, Michael Shanks.

6. Firefly
Did I mention my love of Joss Whedon yet? Yes. Well I won't say any more but I will show you a picture of Captain Tightpants.

7. X-Files
Can you see why I can just write straight fiction? I was a strong believer for many years of X-Files, the last couple seasons lost me a bit but I still watched them.

8. Lost
Oh Lost, how I love and loathe thee? Buffy was one of the only shows that made me lose all track of time until Lost. At the end of every show I was stunned that an hour had passed so quickly. Sigh. I will miss it but I won't miss the emotional turmoil it stirred in me weekly.
9. Family Guy
Seth MacFarlane is my comedy god. There are two shows that have me rolling no matter how many times I've watched them and this is one. I can rewatch it all day, every day and still guffaw.
10. Arrested Development
Oh how I wish I would've caught this show when it was on the air. It has become one my faves though. And it is the other show that keeps me rolling. There are rumors of a movie in the works! Oh how I hope it's true!!
Well there you have it!! I'm off to visit all the others!
Have a great Monday!!
Omigosh - I love Arrested Development! I hate it when good shows are cancelled - at the same time as there really should be a time limit for how long a show can run before it becomes completely uninteresting. I hope there will be a movie too!
ReplyDeleteI have got to check out this Firefly. So far you're the second person to have it on their list. And what can we say about Buffy? Love that show. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI love your list! I'm a huge ST fan as well - TNG is my fave too :)
ReplyDeleteI still haven't watched Buffy - I've got to pick it up on DVD one of these days. I'm a Whedon fan from Firefly so I'm sure I'll love it.
Your list is awesome! (As I knew it would be.) Where on earth did you find that photo of Picard? Classic! And it didn't make my list, but Family Guy is a favorite as well.
ReplyDeleteCool stuff, Palin! Thanks for participating.
I love all the Star Trek shows, watch them over and over.
ReplyDeleteMultiple people have mentioned Firefly - I will have to check it out.
Dang it, Hannah, you're supposed to keep me informed of blogfests like this!
ReplyDeleteWell, if I had KNOWN about this in advance, my list might look something like this (off the top of my head):
1. The Simpsons (no question)
2. Angel (I honestly think I like this more than Buffy)
3. Buffy (but Buffy is still awesome)
4. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (we've talked about this)
5. Futurama
6. Beverly Hills, 90210
7. Friends
8. Family Guy
9. Lost (it would be higher, but they failed to deliver on their promises, which will make re-watching it less fun)
10. Arrested Development
Two shows I adore but I haven't re-watched enough to feel comfortable putting them on this list: Firefly and Sports Night.
PS: Farscape is totes Muppets in Space.
I wish I'd signed up for this. Also I just realized I forgot to mention to Alex about the X-Files, too. I loved that show. I liked Lost, too, at first. Then I fizzled out.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a bunch of my favorites on here! Buffy will always be my No. 1. I own all the DVDs and never tire of them. Also love Firefly and Supernatural (I didn't think so much of the first year but it has gotten so layered and intriguing)
ReplyDeleteYou might as well link to my blog for this list and say "Summer's faves too." A couple different, but no matter! All the important ones are there.
ReplyDeleteAnd how much do I love that Arrested Development poster? THIS MUCH!
ooh arrested developement and farscape! i loved those!!!
ReplyDeleteand ohwow my hubs and i just started going through supernatural! i love it so much, but i have to sleep with a bat next to my bed now, and out of the seven or so episodes we've seen five have taken place within a couple hours of places we've lived... one just about seven miles from my high school! (the asylum in rockford one!!) eeks! too scary!
"I have great eyes, and they're blue!"
ReplyDeleteahh farscape. I may have to take some time today and jump on the boat with this blogfest...
Also, you didn't watch Arrested Developement when it was on the air?! Wha?
I love your picks - and someone else who chose Farscape! I loved that show.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you all the way on Stargate. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely have to agree with a few of your shows. Lost is my #1. Buffy almost made the cut. Firefly is high up there. In fact, I watch other shows the cast is in just so I can see them again.
ReplyDeleteI have major love for Supernatural, Lost, and Joss Whedon! Some excellent choices.
ReplyDeleteWow, a sci-fi extravaganza !
ReplyDeleteI can see a theme occurring with your pics. I love some of the shows too.
ReplyDeleteClarissa Draper from Listen To The Voices
Excellent selections! I forgot about Arrested D, but how could I forget the show that introduced Michael Cera to us all?
ReplyDeleteI really like your list. quite a bit of crossover. excellent.
ReplyDeleteWhat great taste, have you. Some great shows you have there, specially Firefly. I approve.

Love all those shows. Oh, and how unfair that you get to see season six of SUPERNATURAL on friday. We don't get it here in the UK for ages. *sniff*
ReplyDeleteI know the X Files but as I am from the UK don't know the rest, I did though like the presentation of your post.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
@Sarah- I know shocking, right?! I guess it doesn't matter now because I own them all but still. I didn't watch many sitcoms back then though. Awww, remember the Friday scyfy line-up of SG-1 and Farscape? Best night eva!!
ReplyDeleteGreat choices! I so love Firefly
ReplyDeleteFarscape is another one of the shows that eluded my memory that I really enjoyed. Really good stuff!!
ReplyDeleteFarscape! I can't believe how many great shows I forgot about when making my list! I think I may do an additional list for tomorrow. X Files did make my list, though!
ReplyDeleteGreat list!!! It has been so fun today running through the blogs seeing everyone's favorites!
ReplyDeletei don't remember that scene from Star Trek TNG, but it's so out of character for Picard that it's funny.
ReplyDeleteBuffy! Supernatural! Arrested Development! (I keep hearing the rumors, too. Husband and I would be first in line for those tickets) X-Files! Firefly! ALL AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I've never seen that Star Wars Arrested Development poster! Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI've seen a few episodes of Lost and a few of Family Guy. Other than that I'm Lost.
ReplyDeleteLee
Tossing It Out
Jean-Luc Picard. I need say no more!
ReplyDeleteLoved all the above, but I REALLY loved Farscape.
ReplyDeleteThe x-files was and is amazing! and it creeps me out but i still watch it whenever possible
