Top Ten TV Shows Blogfest

So Alex is hosting the Top Ten TV Shows Blogfest and I wasn't sure I was going to participate but seeing as I made a huge boo-boo yesterday (see Sunday's post) I have some free time. And I do love me some TV.

There are a ton of people participating in this one so I will def be making the rounds today and you should too!!

Okay here we go (these are in no order):

  1. Star Trek: TNG
If you've been following my blog for a while, you will already know my deep, deep love of Star Trek. I should probably be embarrassed but I'm not. And TNG is my absolute fave. I usually watch an episode a day still. Yes, it's so so good. And if you don't watch it well this is what Captain Picard thinks of that.

2. Farscape

Sigh. Crighton. I laugh, I cry, I fill with rage...I do many things while watching this show. And it is NOT just Muppets in Space, Teebore! CRACKERS DON'T MATTER!!

3. Supernatural

Again, if you've been following you know the love and slight obsession. I had no hopes at all when I started watching this five years ago. I just thought it would be another CW sex and scandal show. Little did I know how far the mangst and mythos would go to win my heart. Speaking of which SEASON SIX ON FRIDAY BABY!! And have you SEEN Dean?? Sam's not so bad either.

4. Buffy: The Vampire Slayer

I was hooked from episode one and am still hooked. Have you seen Buffy the Musical?? Joss Whedon is a genius. That is all.

5. Stargate: SG-1

The Stargate movie was the first (and only) that I watched 5 times in the theater. It became one of the longest running scifi shows eva and with good reason. Richard Dean Anderson will be in my dreams tonight! Also, Michael Shanks.

6. Firefly

Did I mention my love of Joss Whedon yet? Yes. Well I won't say any more but I will show you a picture of Captain Tightpants.

7. X-Files

Can you see why I can just write straight fiction? I was a strong believer for many years of X-Files, the last couple seasons lost me a bit but I still watched them.

8. Lost

Oh Lost, how I love and loathe thee? Buffy was one of the only shows that made me lose all track of time until Lost. At the end of every show I was stunned that an hour had passed so quickly. Sigh. I will miss it but I won't miss the emotional turmoil it stirred in me weekly.

9. Family Guy

Seth MacFarlane is my comedy god. There are two shows that have me rolling no matter how many times I've watched them and this is one. I can rewatch it all day, every day and still guffaw.

10. Arrested Development

Oh how I wish I would've caught this show when it was on the air. It has become one my faves though. And it is the other show that keeps me rolling. There are rumors of a movie in the works! Oh how I hope it's true!!

Well there you have it!! I'm off to visit all the others!

Have a great Monday!!

  1. Omigosh - I love Arrested Development! I hate it when good shows are cancelled - at the same time as there really should be a time limit for how long a show can run before it becomes completely uninteresting. I hope there will be a movie too!

  2. I have got to check out this Firefly. So far you're the second person to have it on their list. And what can we say about Buffy? Love that show. Great list!

  3. I love your list! I'm a huge ST fan as well - TNG is my fave too :)

I still haven't watched Buffy - I've got to pick it up on DVD one of these days. I'm a Whedon fan from Firefly so I'm sure I'll love it.

  4. Your list is awesome! (As I knew it would be.) Where on earth did you find that photo of Picard? Classic! And it didn't make my list, but Family Guy is a favorite as well.
Cool stuff, Palin! Thanks for participating.

  6. Dang it, Hannah, you're supposed to keep me informed of blogfests like this!

Well, if I had KNOWN about this in advance, my list might look something like this (off the top of my head):

    1. The Simpsons (no question)
    2. Angel (I honestly think I like this more than Buffy)
    3. Buffy (but Buffy is still awesome)
    4. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (we've talked about this)
    5. Futurama
    6. Beverly Hills, 90210
    7. Friends
    8. Family Guy
    9. Lost (it would be higher, but they failed to deliver on their promises, which will make re-watching it less fun)
    10. Arrested Development

Two shows I adore but I haven't re-watched enough to feel comfortable putting them on this list: Firefly and Sports Night.

PS: Farscape is totes Muppets in Space.

  7. I wish I'd signed up for this. Also I just realized I forgot to mention to Alex about the X-Files, too. I loved that show. I liked Lost, too, at first. Then I fizzled out.

  8. You've got a bunch of my favorites on here! Buffy will always be my No. 1. I own all the DVDs and never tire of them. Also love Firefly and Supernatural (I didn't think so much of the first year but it has gotten so layered and intriguing)
