Palindrome's Prizes for Prose

I have finally got all the details for my contest. Yay!!

It's going to be a writing contest! I'm excited, are you excited? Well, you probably want to know some of the details first.

Okay so during the month of October, I will be posting on all things horror and suspense, there will be movies, books, TV shows and some scary memories of my own. It's going to be crazy fun!

What does this have to do with my contest?

If you choose to participate in the contest:

You MUST BE A FOLLOWER.
Your piece must be NO LONGER THAN 1000 WORDS.
Your entry MUST BE OF THE HORROR/SUSPENSE GENRE.
I would love for you to focus on writing something that would freak me right out but any scary story will do.
You can write for any age: MG/YA/Adult...whatever.
You MUST LEAVE A COMMENT LETTING ME KNOW YOU CHOOSE TO ENTER.

All entries must be received by OCTOBER 22, 2010 IN AN EMAIL WITHOUT YOUR NAME ON THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT. So I can read them without knowing who wrote it. :D
This will give me time to read and judge and get the finalists up during the last week of October before Halloween.

There will be THREE WINNERS:

The THIRD place winner will receive two of the following items:

Heart of the Dragon and War of the Sons

Writing Magnets

The SECOND place winner will receive two following items of their choice:

The Tale of Halcyon Crane by Wendy Webb

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

Monster Island by David Wellington

Monster Nation by David Wellington

Writing journals

The FIRST place winner will get to choose three items of their choice:

Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King (released Nov. 2nd 2010)

Let Me In by John Ajvide Lindqvist

Hater by David Moody

The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan

A tote bag

I hope everyone enters! It's going to be so much fun!! And if you've never written a scary story before, now is the time to try something new!!

  25. I've outlined my first scary story, a Stephen King kind of thriller that takes place in southern rural Michigan. Its pretty cool. So far the people I shared it with really like its potential.

Comment. Please, I beg you! Otherwise, I'll just have to sit here and read my own blogs over and over, making up comments in my head.

I respond to comments via email so if your email is connected to your profile, that's where you'll get one. :)
